Bio- Holly & The Hawks

Brian Carr has been playing guitar for well over 30 years in various bands and duos in the Ottawa area including Fleetwood Mac and Alice Cooper tribute bands. His musical influences are wide ranged from Clapton, Joe Walsh, Steve Vai and Pink Floyd. He is a firm believer that in every song, the note you don’t play is just as important as the note you do play. Silence in itself speaks volumes.

Bob Presland had an early start with music winning numerous awards for solo singing (The Ottawa Carleton School Music Competition). He then stepped away from music as sports, work and other interests got the better of his time. His track record in fundraising and organizing both national and international events is impressive.
Bob then had a second start with his music and since getting the music bug back, he has both organized and played in numerous music festivals in the area and hosts an open mic. He has backed up or played in many bands in the area. He loves singing harmonies and playing his ever present 12 string guitar. He dabbles with the banjo and mandolin and can fill in if a cajon is needed. "We are so lucky to do what we do'" is his favourite quote.

Holly Gillis-Cox is a singer whose music is grounded in emotion and storytelling. She has a passion for connecting with her audiences and sharing the joy of music. From the scenic shores of Cape Breton Island, Holly was raised in a community rich in music, nature, and tradition—a backdrop that continues to inspire her sound and soul.
Though she’s been singing since childhood, it’s only in recent years that Holly has begun to share her voice more widely. Her journey has included solo performances, songwriting, and many collaborations with other talented Ottawa musicians. May the journey continue!
